R&D Test Systems has installed the new blade exciter at NWETC in Tianjin, China.

The exciter is one of China's most powerful blade fatigue test equipment, which can test a 120m blade with an excitation power of 220 kW, applying 120 KN force on the blade.

“It has been an interesting project as we faced some challenges, including COVID-19. With great support from NWETC, our project team delivered a good project and set up the first electric exciter installed in China. Furthermore, the new system has the capability to upgrade to a dual-axis test system. The cooperation between NWETC and R&D Test Systems is a win-win for both partners. R&D Test Systems delivers a successful electric exciter in China after continual successes in Europe and the US. NWETC positions itself with a strong technology advantage in blade testing in China and Asia markets,” explains Liwen Hu, Project and Commissioning Engineer at R&D Test Systems.
