Advancing Floating Wind Technology with Testing
Floating Wind
Offshore wind farms capture wind resources that are stronger and more consistent than those on land. However, offshore is limited by the dept of the water. That’s where floating wind technology allows turbines to be deployed in deep waters where traditional bottom-fixed structures aren't feasible. This expands the areas where wind power can be harvested and takes advantage of stronger offshore breezes.
At R&D Test Systems, we have 15 years of experience developing test systems for onshore and offshore wind turbines. We transfer this knowledge to testing floating wind turbines. As floating wind turbines are deployed in challenging ocean environments, rigorous testing across several critical components is required to ensure durability, stability, and efficiency.
Our engineering approach
We develop various test systems that provide tier-one suppliers and OEMs with a critical understanding of their components and wind turbines. Our test benches are designed to simulate harsh marine environments, providing real-world conditions to validate wind turbines' durability and performance.
